Active Release Technique

Active Release Technique (ART) is a patented, movement-based, soft tissue technique that is used to diagnose and treat injuries involving muscles, tendon, ligaments, fascia, and nerves. ART providers utilize specific hands-on protocols that require different directions and forces to be applied to the injured tissues while the patient is guided through a series of functional movements.

ART is used to treat a large variety of conditions, including carpal tunnel, sciatica, headaches, shoulder dysfunction, and tennis elbow. This technique breaks down scar tissue to lengthen and strengthen muscles and release tension on nerves that become entrapped from trauma and over use injuries. As a result, ART decreases pain and increase range of motion.
